The committee agreed that this individual is an Eastern Marsh Harrier instead of a Pied Harrier.
While the barred primaries are a pro-Pied Harrier feature, this alone is not diagnostic. It can be a rather variable characteristic in the Eastern Marsh Harrier too, and in this instance the broad wings, bulky body and head rules out Pied Harrier. |
