Location | Lorong Halus Entrance |

Identification |
---|
Large heron-like bird, dark grey-brownish colour overall, pronounced downward curved beak. Seen briefly before it went out of sight over the trees at close range in flight, over Halus entrance flying at low height, in north-west direction over the adjacent river. Neck was extended without kink. Camera was still in bag so no photos. Considered painted/milky stork but plumage was dark with no white, beak was dark coloured, curved, and not so thick also. Considered herons, but neck extended and curvature of the beak is just too significant. Marshy habitat seems appropriate as well. Can't think of anything else which fits the description. |
