Identification |
---|
On the furthest sand bank, among several Lesser Sand Plovers, we observed (via 60x scope) two medium-sized Calidris sandpipers, clearly much larger than the Red-necked Stints also on the same bank. Not only were they larger, they were also paler (both on underparts – very white and upperparts – light grey). Hard to make out much detail at that distance, but they seemed slightly longer-billed compared to the Red-necked Stints and Lesser Sand Plover as well. |
