Identification |
---|
Heard. While waiting for the crimson breasted flowerpecker, I heard the familiar call of the black-winged flycatcher-shrike (bwfcs), which is similar to the first call found in ebird. A few of us confirmed amongst ourselves that we did hear- jared, Yan Ze, JJ, Kaeden and Wai Heng. Even though I did not ask Kim Chuah whether he had also heard, his checklist includes the bwfcs as heard. The bird called a few times but did not appear. Considering that several of us heard the call and all came to the same ID, including Kim Chuah, the ID is quite certain. |

Observer's experience w/similar species |

Have seen and heard bar-winged flycatcher-shrike. Given that this species has yet to be seen in Singapore, not likely to be bar-winged although the call is similar. But honestly I would not be able to differentiate between the 2 calls. |
