Descriptions
Identification
Small-medium bird high in tree, near coastal ponds and mangrove. Distinctively coloured. Glossy deep blue head, back and wings. Orange throat and belly. Dark around eyes and face. Black chin. Single male bird. Unfortunately, no images as we were without cameras (mobile devices only).
Habitat/behaviour
Small-medium bird high in tree, near coastal pond and mangroves. Moving between upper branches of tree. Sat on small branch for 5-10 minutes allowing for clear views.
Viewing conditions
Clear day with sun and cloud patches.

Not familiar with this species - third time bird watching in Singapore - have seen flycatchers and other similar species here, in the wider Pacific, and throughout the Caribbean. Highly experienced conservation ecologists/ornithologists.
