Identification
---
The flycatcher flew up onto the perched (as photographed), facing us in that pose for about a minute, before diving down below the canopy and vanishing.
Habitat/behaviour
---
The bird seemed to be taking a break after swooping at some prey, and then proceeded to hunt after a minute of rest.
Viewing conditions
---
Foggy morning, cloudy day, no sun. Bird was about 5 metres away from us.
Observer's experience
---
This is my first time seeing a Zappey's flycatcher.
Observer's experience w/similar species
---
I have only seen the Blue-and-white Flycatcher once at Healing Garden without any camera. Very unfamiliar with Cyanoptila flycatchers.
