No citations or descriptions in both Lim (2009) and Wang & Hails (2007). The bird was reportedly photographed and was originally shared on the YahooGroups but the picture is not available anywhere online as of writing (9 August 2021). Descriptions of the photos in the YahooGroup Archives 2001 by the primary observer, Alfred Chia, reproduced here: "My personal deduction is that of a possible sub-adult female Imperial Eagle. The prominent patch of lighter brown at the primaries remiges (just after the relatively long wings fingers) and the almost whitish head at rest dictates my deduction. I have referred to the "Raptors of the World" by James Ferguson-Lees & David A.Christie. The general overall near-golden colour was also noted.". The bird in the photo is also described to have a whitish head. |
