Wang & Hails (2007) cites SINAV 15:4 for this record but no such documentation exists in the cited literature. Discussion of this bird can be found in the YahooGroup Archives. In it, the discoverer, Ivor Lee, alluded to the 1999 sighting (see Record Number 1026) and shared his description of what he identified as a female Hen Harrier. The descriptions are reproduced here: "The diagnostic white rump and the pale underside with streaks could be seen clearly in flight". The bird was reportedly photographed, but the photos cannot be found online as of writing (9 August 2021). These descriptions do not clearly rule out the other harriers possible in Singapore. |
