Background |

Apparently misidentified as a Rosy Starling by the observer, but identified as a Brahminy Starling based on the notes by David Wells (Wang & Hails, 2007). Reportedly observed in October, dates of sighting are imprecise. While primary details of the bird are unavailable, we choose to accept this record given that David Wells checked through the descriptions and managed to reach the conclusion that it was a Brahminy Starling, despite the incorrect identification provided—this suggests that the descriptions were adequate. We chose to accept this record given the trend of winter vagrancy in Brahminy Starlings over the past few decades (Soe Naing et al., 2016). |
