Observed (on 11 February 2020) by Oliver Tan around 1615 calling similar to XC61850, XC61851, XC295961 and responding to XC513442. Observed briefly by Keita Sin on the same day around 1715, calling similar to XC442640 as it flew. The bird was larger than a Black-naped Oriole (25cm) (pers comms Oliver Tan, Keita Sin). The photos show an all black bird with yellow bill, pale chin to throat with some light black streaking, with thin yellow eyering. The similar looking Indian Blackbird is smaller than a Black-naped Oriole, while Chinese Blackbird is bigger. |
