Lim (2009) cites James Heng (in litt). The description was shared in the YahooGroup, reproduced here: "the solid yellow patches above and below its eye were readily apparent. Even the feather barbs on the bird's head could be clearly seen! Its crown was olive green (not grey) while its throat and the rest of the belly was yellow (not white). It was a THICK BILLED SPIDERHUNTER! It was larger than the usual sunbirds and it's bill was longer and thicker at the end compared to a sunbird.". |
