Details in the primary source is limited. Quote: "I had a letter from a Chinese friend recently saying that he had shot a large duck out of a flight of Whistling Teal, which he believed to be a "Spoonbill". His description of the bird leaves no doubt in my mind that he had shot a Shoveller. This was in Singapore in November.". Allen (1959) further remarks that another Shoveller was possibly seen in Ipoh in the same season. Listed as Nov 1959, dates of sighting are imprecise. |
