Identification
---
Didn't managed to ID on the spot but only realised when reviewing photos that the of 2 flowerpecker, 1 could be a possible Plain Flowerpecker. The photos (see checklist), shows the top bird to be plain looking, no orange/yellow/red to the vent and rump (backside shot), bill is thin, slighly curved (not thick bill species). Orange Bellied FP would have obvious yellow to vent and rumped while scarlet backed FP should show some red to rump given the bird is nearly adult (very little pale colour to base of bill).
Habitat/behaviour
---
Bird was flying around the slope in front of Chek Jawa boardwalk shelter.
Viewing conditions
---
lighting was good, with morning sun behind me shining on bird but it is a small bird and perch on top of the right side of slope (far).
Observer's experience
---
I have seen this species in Thailand and Malaysia.
Observer's experience w/similar species
---
I have seen most of P. Malaysia and Singapore flowerpecker species.
