From Medway & Nisbet (1965): "seen from 16-23 November 1964, and on 1 Jan 1965; on the ground it appeared grey-buff, slightly paler below with a darker streak through the eye. In the air it showed a most striking wing pattern: primaries black; secondaries white, tipped with black, conspicuous from above and below; coverts buff. Tail white, tipped black, less forked than that of Collared Pratincole. The bird could be picked out of a flock of Collared Pratincoles at a great distance on account of its dashing flight, with faster wing beats and frequent upwards swoops.". |
