Committee's view
Background
Two birds. One immature male and one female. Photographs and details of the record is included in the Bird Ecology Study Group blog (see other link) and SINAV 22:8. This is a misidentified Violet Cuckoo: an Asian Emerald Cuckoo will have much greener plumage (not bronze-green), lack the rufous head seen in the photograph, and have either a yellow bill with black tip (in females) or black upper mandible and flesh-coloured lower mandible (in juveniles). (To note: this record is accepted by the Nature Society (Singapore) as an Emerald Cuckoo, see comments in the BESG link as well as link in the NSS blog).
Verdict Not accepted (Verifiable)
