The bird was reportedly ringed in the Jurong Mangroves on 2 January 1971 (MAPS, 1971, in Wang & Hails, 2007). MAPS (1971) is not listed in the reference and it is unclear what the document is. As of writing (2 July 2021) it has been a struggle to find the original doumentation. There are docments by McClure, who compiled the MAPS records, online (see https://rmc.library.cornell.edu/EAD/htmldocs/RMM06757.html#s10 for a list of documents by McClure from the region). An alternative source "Birds banded in Asia during the MAPS program, by locality, from 1963 through 1971", available at https://digitalgems.nus.edu.sg/persistent/11717cb4-6e38-4d8f-b632-bbafa87d371f, strangely does not include this species in the list of birds caught in Singapore. |
