Committee's view

Background
No descriptions included in SINAV 6:2, where it was reported as a Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher (which by current taxonomy refers to Chinese Blue Flycatcher). The sighting was supposedly confirmed later (see Record Number 760) as being a Mangrove Blue Flycatcher. Wang & Hails (2007) instead treats this sighting as an unconfirmed record of the Blue-throated Blue Flycatcher.
