Reported by Peter Kennerley. Descriptions of the birds and location available in the eBird checklist. They are reproduced here "Two seen, both in the morning and well within Singapore waters, first about 15 minutes out from the WTC before P. Seria, second was south of the Tuas anchorage and southwest of Sultan Shoal lighthouse. First bird seen @ 250 m, second more distant @ 400m. All dark shearwaters with short tail - thus eliminating Wedge-tailed, lacked pale silvery underwing of Sooty and was proportionately shorter winged than that species. Conditions still so fast flapping flight, no shearing." |
